At Grasby All Saints Church of England Primary School, we want every child to be a reader. We believe it is the most important thing they will learn at school and we strive to ensure that every child leaves Key Stage One a confident, fluent reader. We have recently introduced the Read Write Inc. programme to teach phonics. This is a rigorous, systematic programme that is taught in daily, discrete sessions, as well as being used throughout the school day in all areas of the curriculum when reading and writing. Each child is assessed every half term and placed in the group where they will make the most progress.

Each year, we hold an information workshop around our teaching of phonics and how parents can support their children at home.
